Along this path, Drew worked for three very different firms before starting his own practice in the early 90’s. In fact, he built two practices then, one focused on architecture and the other on product design. In the late 90’s he was asked to help build architecture for a national consulting firm. This led to new project and client types and a national portfolio. Drew was then asked to be a principal in the LA design studio of a multi-national, multi-billion-dollar consulting firm. His first project role was to lead the LA police headquarters, a half-million square foot, multi-site project to an on-time, on-budget, award-winning completion. It was on top of these experiences and relationships that Drew founded MCTIGUE in 2011. MCTIGUE created the opportunity for Drew and his team to work closely and with great thoughtfulness on projects of a more social and environmental nature.
Drew is beginning his 4th decade of professional work and 2nd decade of MCTIGUE. Drew travels, cycles, speaks and writes. He is a continuous learner and inspired by where architecture is evolving and the difference he can make.
